Fangirly thoughts: The thing that really impresses me about Penny in this scene is how utterly committed she is. Even when she's thrown upwards and tin barely walk and Baz says they don't have to keep going, Penny forges alee to get to Simon. That is a side by side-level badass friend.

I blame the super blood moon for this. Lol
This past weekend was especially angsty for me; therefore, I succumbed to angsty art. 🤷🏻♀️ (I told y'all it would happen.)
This 1 won't be digital - I have a shiny new stash of Copics I'm going to christen for this - so it may be a lilliputian while before y'all come across a finished version. In the meantime, here are the WIP pics from last night.

This scene was written so beautifully, I couldn't follow through on my original programme to release art in order. 2 things stuck out to me in the way Rainbow wrote this milestone of intimacy for Simon and Baz: ane) The way Baz uses verbal cues to keep Simon present and in the moment (when before, he'd been succumbing to panic attacks any fourth dimension they were virtually to be physically intimate), and 2) the way this dear scene was as passionate and loving as whatever other love scene regardless of their still being dressed (which pleased me greatly as a gray-ace person). I merely thought it was so mindfully executed given the characters and the audience, and I promise those of you who read it concur.
Somehow I missed this art when information technology came out (shame on me), then now I have to yell near it.
Your mastery over lighting and shadow continues to astound me. The calorie-free is conspicuously coming from the left and is picked upwardly near strongly by Baz's white shirt, but then you apply the calorie-free to brand a line of motion from left to right that moves at merely a slow enough footstep that your eyes option up all the details, all the style to the light points on Simon'due south fly tips. Similar bruh. I could scream.
I call back I've said this before, but it bears repeating: my favorite fine art pieces past you are the ones with limited color palettes. This is one of them, and you killed information technology. Everything is muted because it's night, but I can even so meet everything I need to with the thoughtful color choices.
Your posing has improved since you commencement started posting Acquit On fanart, and it shows hither. Simon and Baz may be nevertheless (because it'southward a static art piece, of course), but in that location is a sense of move in how they're intertwined. This art could just suddenly showtime moving, and I tin can meet how information technology'd showtime moving.
Finally, I'm a fiddling obsessed with how Simon's wing blends into his back and shoulder blade. It's so expert. All of this is so practiced, simply this item is actually so good.
